Factores asociados a la práctica no responsable de automedicación en estudiantes de la Facultad de Medicina Humana de la Universidad Ricardo Palma. Octubre–diciembre del 2020
Abstract
Introducción: La automedicación es una práctica común; dos de cada tres personas
con algún problema relacionado a su salud, recurren a esta práctica. La OMS respalda
y valida la automedicación responsable, sin embargo, durante la pandemia por
COVID19 las prácticas no responsables estuvieron en auge, generando un problema
de salud pública.
Objetivos: Determinar los factores asociados a la práctica no responsable de
automedicación en estudiantes de la Facultad de Medicina Humana de la Universidad
Ricardo Palma. Octubre – diciembre del 2020.
Métodos: Estudio de tipo cuantitativo, observacional, analítico y transversal. A través
de un muestreo probabilístico se escogieron 362 estudiantes de medicina humana,
para medir las prácticas de automedicación se usó un cuestionario previamente
validado en nuestro país.
Resultados: La prevalencia de la práctica no responsable de automedicación es del
38,67%, el análisis multivariado demostró que el cursar en un semestre preclínico [RP
1,48 (IC 95%:1,13 – 1,93), p=0,004]; tener una actitud favorable frente a la
automedicación [RP 1,46 (IC 95%: 1,05 – 2,00), p=0,045]; el haber estado en contacto
con un caso confirmado de COVID 19 % [RP 1,44 (IC 95%:1,01 – 2,04) p=0,042] y el
haberse realizado tamizaje para COVID-19 [RP 1,42 (IC 95%:1,06 – 1,88) p=0,016]
se asociaron de manera significativa con la práctica no responsable de
automedicación.
Conclusiones: Los factores asociados a la práctica no responsable de
automedicación son cursar un semestre preclínico, tener una actitud favorable, haber
tenido contacto con un caso confirmado y haberse realizado tamizaje para COVID 19.
