Anemia como factor pronóstico en pacientes con cáncer de cérvix atendidos en el servicio de oncología del Hospital María Auxiliadora entre los años 2016-2019

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la anemia como factor pronóstico en pacientes
con cáncer de cérvix atendidos en el servicio de oncología del hospital maría
auxiliadora entre los años 2016-2019.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio de tipo observacional, analítico, de cohorte
retrospectiva. La muestra estuvo constituida por 86 pacientes diagnosticadas de cáncer
de cérvix. Se evaluó el tiempo de enfermedad hasta la ocurrencia del evento muerte, la
anemia, los niveles de INL y RDW, entre otras variables. Se elaboró curvas de
supervivencia con el método de Kaplan Meier que fueron analizadas con la prueba del
log-rank. Se determinó asimismo el HR mediante el modelo de Regresión de Cox
Resultados: De las pacientes 58 (67,4%) presentaron anemia, 45 (52,3%) presentaron
un INL elevado y 33 (38,4%) presentaron un RDW elevado antes de empezar el
tratamiento oncológico. Tras el análisis de supervivencia, se encontró significancia
estadística en las curvas de supervivencia de la anemia, edad, INL y RDW. En el
análisis bivariado y multivariado ajustado a la edad, la anemia mostró asociación con la
supervivencia (HR: 3,094, IC: 1,321-7,246, p<0,05). En el análisis ajustado a la edad, la
anemia y el RDW, el INL ≥ 2,1 mostró significancia estadística, constituyendo un factor
de riesgo para la mortalidad en pacientes con cáncer de cérvix (HR:3,332, IC: 1,193-
9,307, p <0,05).
Conclusión: La anemia, el INL y el RDW disminuyen la supervivencia. El INL es una
variable independiente del riesgo para mortalidad.
