La investigación sobre “Mapa de grado de desempeño (PG) para ligantes asfálticos
según clasificación Superpave, aplicado en las regiones Lima, Ancash e Ica”, constituye
un primer paso en la aplicación de la metodología Superpave, para la selección y
evaluación de ligantes asfálticos en el Perú, como una respuesta a la necesidad de
considerar factores climáticos en las provincias de Lima, Ica y Ancash como condiciones
que afectan de manera directa a los pavimentos de las carreteras que se construyen dentro
de las regiones mencionadas. Como primer punto se recopiló una base de datos climática
a partir de datos de temperatura máxima y mínima, y medias diarias durante un periodo
continuo de 20 años correspondientes a las estaciones meteorológicas distribuidas en las
tres regiones en estudio. Evaluados los datos de temperatura se pudieron observar
gradientes diarios elevados de temperatura entre las máximas y mínimas registradas como
se esperaba de una zona con condiciones tan extremas, a continuación, se desarrolló el
mapa de Grado de Desempeño con factores estadísticos de confiabilidad a partir de los
modelos matemáticos SHRP y LTPP. Para la Delimitación de Zonas por Grado de
Desempeño se partieron de dos criterios: el Mapa Climático del Perú de acuerdo a la
clasificación de climas de Warren Thornthwaite, y las Curvas de Nivel definidas cada 100
m de altura. Además, se muestra como valor agregado, los resultados comparativos del
PG de algunas zonas de las tres regiones según los modelos matemáticos de SHRP (1994),
LTPP (1996), LTPP (1998-2000) y LTPP (2004).
