Factores asociados a anemia en pacientes adultos mayores postoperados de fractura de cadera en el Servicio de Traumatologia del Hospital Militar Central durante enero 2010 a mayo 2019.

Introducción: La fractura de cadera es una patología frecuente en el adulto mayor, la cual aumenta su incidencia con la edad. Siendo el tratamiento optimo el quirúrgico, se dan perdidas hemáticas además del foco de fractura, lo que se manifiesta en anemia y ésta puede contribuir al deterioro funcional del paciente y al aumento de la morbimortalidad. Objetivos: Describir los factores asociados a anemia en pacientes adultos mayores de 60 años postoperados de fractura de cadera en el servicio de Traumatología en el Hospital Militar Central durante enero 2010 a mayo 2019. Materiales y métodos: Estudio de tipo observacional, descriptivo, transversal y de serie de casos, donde se analizaron los datos de pacientes adultos mayores que se realizaron una cirugía de cadera en el Departamento de Traumatología del Hospital Militar Central, durante el periodo de estudio. Resultados: Se analizaron 109 adultos mayores postoperados de fractura de cadera, siendo más frecuente el sexo femenino con un 59,6% del total y la mediana de edad de 85 años (Q1-Q3: 79-89). De las variables estudiadas, las que se relacionaron a anemia postoperatoria fueron: el sexo (femenino 54,8%, n=51, vs. masculino 45,2%, n=42) (p<0,05); el tipo de fractura (extracapsular 68,8%, n=6 vs. intracapsular 31,2%, n=29) (p<0,05) y la hemoglobina preoperatoria (pacientes con anemia postoperatoria,10,96 g/dL±1,19 vs. los que no tenían la anemia, 12,59 g/dL±0,85) (p<0,001). Conclusiones: El sexo femenino, el tipo de fractura extracapsular y la anemia preoperatoria tuvieron asociación significativa como factores asociados a anemia postoperatoria.
