Impacto de las actividades de responsabilidad social de Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A. en la zona de influencia de su operación Pierina, en el departamento de Ancash
Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación tiene el propósito de medir el impacto de las
actividades de responsabilidad social de Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A. (MBM) en la zona
de influencia de su operación Pierina en el departamento de Ancash, los indicadores de
medición comprenden los rubros de infraestructura, educación, salud y desarrollo económico
productivo.
La investigación se ha realizado con una muestra de 480 familias, pertenecientes a las 18
comunidades que cuentan con el apoyo social de MBM y se encuentran ubicadas en los distritos
de Independencia y Jangas del departamento de Ancash, la finalidad de medir el impacto es
conocer la realidad actual de las condiciones de vida de las comunidades beneficiadas.
Para medir el impacto de las actividades utilizaremos como línea de base al Censo Nacional
del 2007 del INEI: XI población y VI vivienda, el que se contrastara con los resultados de las
encuestas realizadas en campo.
Los resultados de la investigación han permitido reflejar un impacto positivo en los rubros
de infraestructura y desarrollo económico productivo. Asimismo, la investigación refleja un
impacto negativo progresivo en los rubros de salud y educación, a pesar de los distintos
proyectos financiados por MBM para mejorar la calidad de vida de las familias.
Para cambiar esos resultados negativos, sugiero la intervención del estado y la empresa
minera MBM, donde el estado participe como un ente de monitoreo continuo de asistencia de
profesores y médicos a la zona de influencia, de esta manera bajaría el índice de deserción
escolar y aumentaría la asistencia a postas de la población para la atención de enfermedades.
