INVESTIGACIONES ARQUEOLÓGICAS EN FLOR DEL MAYO, MOYOBAMBA, DEPARTAMENTO Y REGIÓN SAN MARTÍN. TEMPORADA 2014.
The archaeological investigations in Flor del Mayo town confirmed the existence of an ancient
population settled on top of the present day school knoll, and a stone made corridor located on
its western side. We still do not know whether or not this structure is of Inka date since no
ceramics of Inka stye was found so far. Recorded pottery remains suggest cultural links with
Late Regional States or Late Intermediate Period ((A. D. +1300-1440) occupations, such as
those of the Chazuta site, and also with the so called kingdom of Chachapoyas.
