Análisis comparativo de estabilización de suelos arcillosos utilizando columnas de gravas y mechas drenantes en la carretera Tocache - Juanjui tramo II: Pizarrón – Campanilla

La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad identificar la mejor alternativa de
solución para el mejoramiento de suelo entre las progresivas, km 49+300 al 49+500 de la
carretera Tocache – Juanjui Tramo II: Pizarrón- Campanilla, departamento de San Martín,
el cual presentó problemas de asentamiento y desplazamiento del terreno perjudicando la
ejecución de la obra.
Se realizó un comparativo entre dos técnicas de mejora, columnas de grava y mechas
drenantes por medio de la realización de una serie de cálculos establecidos por autores
bibliográficos y adicionalmente, se realizó un ejemplo aplicativo de análisis y diseño de
un terraplén encima del terreno arcilloso. Para ello, se realizó ensayos de consolidación
unidimensional con muestras que fueron obtenidos mediante la realización de calicatas a
una profundidad de 3.0 m in situ, con la información obtenida del ensayo de laboratorio
se procedió a realizar los cálculos respectivos utilizando el programa de Excel. Luego, se
realizó un modelamiento utilizando el programa de Civil 3D y del software Slide v.6.0
para analizar la estabilidad del terraplén en tres de los casos; sin mejoramiento, mejorado
con mechas drenantes y mejorado con columnas de grava, para así poder sugerir la
solución más óptima para el problema de inestabilidad del terreno.
A partir de los resultados obtenidos se concluyó que la técnica de drenaje más idóneo
para la estabilización del suelo en estudio es la aplicación de columnas de grava, ya que
presenta un menor asentamiento logrando consolidar el suelo en menor tiempo y
estabilizar de manera eficiente cumpliendo las normativas correspondientes.
