Impacto económico y factores asociados a mortalidad materna en Perú: en el marco de la encuesta de demografía y salud familiar (ENDES) 2015-2018
Abstract
Introducción: La Mortalidad Materna es un tema de mucha importancia. Según la
OMS cada día 830 mujeres fallecerán por motivos del embarazo, parto, puerperio,
es decir, 585 mil mujeres mueran anualmente.
Objetivo: Estimar el impacto económico de las intervenciones en salud materno
neonatal y factores socioeconómicos asociados a mortalidad materna en el Perú
según la encuesta demográfica y salud familiar ENDES, en el periodo 2015-2018.
Métodos: Estudio retrospectivo, analítico. Se utilizaron datos secundarios del INEI,
encuesta ENDES y gastos devengados del MEF en Salud Materno Neonatal
durante 2015-2018.
Resultados: Se analizó una muestra de 7274 mujeres edad fértil, se reportaron
1268 muertes maternas en el periodo 2015-2018, con un promedio de 317 muertes
por año, el año 2017 se reportaron el mayor número de muertes maternas
334(19,4%). El área rural la frecuencia de muertes maternas es mayor(19.4%), los
factores asociados a mortalidad materna son: El índice de riqueza: gestantes
provenientes de hogares muy pobres (OR=1.55, IC95%=1.12-2.14), pobres
(OR=1.41,
IC95%=1.02-1.95)
y
medios
(OR=1.76,
IC95%=1.26-2.45);
la
multiparidad (OR=3.14, IC95%=2.65-3.72); la edad de 20 a 35 años (OR=1.20,
IC95%=1.01-1.44). El lugar de muerte, las gestantes con complicaciones
provenientes del campo (OR=1.41, IC95%=1.20-1.65). El año 2018 hubo un
impacto positivo de los gastos devengados en los gobiernos regionales para la
Salud Materno Neonatal.
Conclusiones: El índice de riqueza, paridad, edad y lugar de muerte se asociaron
a mortalidad materna. El impacto económico relacionado al programa Salud
Materno Neonatal fue positivo en el año 2018.
