Sistema Terramesh como alternativa técnica económica de estabilización de taludes con materiales excedentes, caso: DME-03 - tramo I - carretera Oyón-Ambo

El propósito de la investigación fue determinar la mejor alternativa, técnica y económica,
de estabilización de taludes aplicable en el Depósito de Materiales Excedentes número
tres (DME-03) del tramo I de la carretera Oyón-Ambo, para ello se seleccionaron dos
sistemas de estabilización aplicables en este caso: el Sistema de Talud simple y el Sistema
Terramesh, con los cuales se les realizaron diseños y pasaron por evaluaciones de
estabilidad en cada una de sus secciones longitudinales (cada 15 m) utilizándose el
programa Slide v. 6.0, además, fueron sometidos a una evaluación económica en la cual
se elaboraron y compararon los costos de construcción por m3.
Previo a ello se recogió información acerca del proyecto del “Expediente de
Fraccionamiento y Actualización del Presupuesto del Estudio Definitivo para el
Mejoramiento de la Carretera Oyón-Ambo” , publicación de Provias Nacional, de donde
se pudo obtener parámetros geotécnicos y de diseño, lo cuales en conjunto con el diseño
geométrico del DME dieron lugar al modelo geotécnico conceptual de la investigación,
teniendo así la base para los análisis técnicos y económicos, además, se recogieron los
datos de las precipitaciones anuales de la estación de Oyón perteneciente al SENAMHI y
que mediante un estudio hidrológico, permitieron calcular la escorrentía superficial en el
área de estudio, dato importante para los análisis hidráulicos que sirvieron para el diseño
del sistema de drenaje para el DME.
Dentro de los resultados más significativos tenemos que la mejor alternativa técnicoeconómica
para la estabilización de taludes del DME-03 es el uso del sistema Terramesh
debido a su fácil construcción, alta estabilidad, mayor verticalidad frontal, mayor
capacidad máxima y un costo competitivo en contraste a métodos más tradicionales.
