Disfunción familiar como factor asociado a depresión en alumnos de secundaria del Colegio Pablo María Guzmán – Surco durante abril del 2019
Abstract
Objetivo: Determinar la asociación entre disfunción familiar y depresión en los alumnos de secundaria de la institución educativa nacional Pablo María Guzmán – Surco durante abril del 2019. Materiales y métodos: Es un estudio de tipo Analítico, observacional y transversal. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la escala de autoevaluación para depresión de Zung y la escala de APGAR familiar, los cuales fueron aplicados a los alumnos del nivel secundaria de dicha institución educativa. Para el análisis de las variables se utilizó prueba de chi cuadrado, Odds Ratios (OR) con Intervalos de Confianza (IC) al 95%. Resultados: Se analizaron 158 encuestas de los alumnos que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. El 53% pertenece al género femenino, mientras que la edad promedio fue de 14 años ± 1,4. Se evidencia que el 59,5% de los alumnos pertenecen a familias disfuncionales y que el 20,9% de los alumnos presenta depresión. En el análisis bivariado se encontró la asociación estadísticamente significativa entre la disfunción familiar y la depresión (OR: 5,0; IC 95%: 1,81 – 13,80; p=0,001), entre la funcionalidad familiar y la depresión (OR: 0,20; IC 95%: 0,072 – 0.551; p=0,001), entre el género femenino y la depresión (OR: 2,41; IC 95%: 1,06 – 5,48; p=0,032), adolescencia temprana y la depresión (OR: 2,42; IC 95%: 1,10 – 5,31; p=0,025). Conclusión: Se determinó que la disfunción familiar, el sexo femenino y la adolescencia temprana son factores de riesgo para la presencia de depresión; mientras que pertenecer a una familia funcional seria un factor protector contra la depresión en los alumnos de la institución educativa.
